EU Commission announces improvement of travel services websites after concerted enforcement action

The EU Commission announced that there has been increased compliance with EU law of the websites offering travel services, after a concerted action (“sweep”) of national enforcement bodies took place all over the EU in 2013.

While in 2013 only a percentage of 31,8% of the websites checked were fulfilling their obligations under EU law, currently this percentage has been increased to 63%. The main infringements of the websites concern inadequate information on the trader’s identity and the complaining procedure, as well as preselected optional services that increase the final price. See more details here and there.
